Born in Paris,
Isabel Goldsmith is the daughter of British Financier
Sir James Goldsmith and granddaughter of “Bolivian
Tin King” Antenor Patino. Ms. Goldsmith, who was
raised in both France and England, presently divides
her time between London, Los Angeles and Mexico, where
she developed Las Alamandas,, a luxury hotel situated
on 70 acres within a 1,500-acre private paradise of
exotic trees, palms, flowers, wild birds and
lagoons.
Ms. Goldsmith’s
legendary grandfather, who built Las Hadas in Manzanillo,
originally planned a major development for Las Alamandas
which he named after the Copa de Oro flowers abundant
in the area. After his death, she continued to work
on the project, retaining its name but opting to create
a luxury four-villa hideaway, instead of the large-scale
resort that his grandfather had planned. Offering the
epitome of seclusion in paradise, the resort is located
between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo.
Ms. Goldsmith is involved
in a variety of philanthropic endeavors, many of which
focus on the environment. Most recently she has spearheaded
various projects to protect and preserve the Mexican
Coastline. |
